Research Storage Training Workshops

The UITS Research Storage Group will hold training classes for users of the Research File System (RFS) and the Scholarly Data Archive (SDA). Our instructors will give an overview of the features of both systems, and participants will go through a series of hands-on exercises. These exercises will include:

  • using several methods of connecting to RFS and SDA, and comparing their features
  • trying out your preferred applications to process files on RFS
  • using collaborative project areas on RFS
  • setting selective access to files that are shared by several people
  • setting up RFS and SDA access software on your laptop

Participants should bring a laptop with Mac, Windows or Unix/Linux installed. Participant laptops must have a wireless connection and be able to connect to the IUSecure network.

All sessions will be held on Monday, October 28th in the Sassafras Room, Indiana Memorial Union.  To register, click on the session title.
