The mission of the Research Analytics Group is to promote the innovative, scalable, and sustainable use of analytics tools and methods to advance the research, education, and external engagement missions of Indiana University. Innovative use of statistical, mathematical computing technology, and informed use of GIS and remote sensing are major strategic assets in advancing IU's productivity and national leadership in education and research.
Research Analytics is responsible for administration and support of centrally-delivered stat/math software on systems ranging from the Student Technology Centers to the large shared systems. We also promote 'distributed' computing by reselling (at prices below academic list) workstation-based software to the IU Bloomington, and Indianapolis campuses. Selected software packages are also distributed to the IU regional campuses. Our staff members provide consulting support, but we are focusing on delivery of resources that enable UITS customers to solve their problems independently (such as network-based information resources and electronic documentation).
